History

The company was started back in 1996 when the founder, Peter Liegl, purchased assets from Cobra Industries to start his own company. In Forest River’s first product line you could see diverse RV vehicles, which showed their dedication to providing something for everyone. The success of these early Forest River RVs led to the company expanding their products even more to include much larger, more extravagant options. 

The work they put into their products ensured that Forest River campers became very popular, allowing the company to grow so much that they started to acquire other businesses, including  Starcraft Bus, Glaval Bus, and US Cargo. In 2005, they became a part of Berkshire Hathaway, which is one of the largest holding companies in the world.
